Announcements 2015-2016
March 13, 2016
Upcoming Events Grades have been updated and everything for this term is on them. The last day of this term is next Thursday, the 17th. Since I will be out of town that day, the last day to make up quizzes or turn in missing homework will be Wednesday, the 16th. Please don't stress too much about making up homework that wasn't done, but do look around for any homework assignments that were completed but not turned in so your child can receive credit for the work they did. Students will have a chance to make up missing quizzes in class on Monday and Tuesday. If students want to study and retake a quiz they may. |
Week 27
Upcoming Events March 17 – No SEPs for our class March 18 – No School March 21 – Term 4 Begins April 4-8 – Spring Break I just found out about an exciting chance for your family to do some exploring together. Because of an exciting new initiative, every 4th grader has access to a pass that provides free access for them and their families to national parks, national forests, national wildlife refuges, and more! This is especially fun because of all the great national parks to explore here in Utah. Your child is coming home with their pass today, but if you have any other questions or lose your pass and need a new one, here are some links. In we have been rounding numbers and talking about the water cycle this week. We did a fun experiment yesterday with the water cycle in a big bottle. See if your student can describe to you all the parts of the water cycle we saw. We started doing small groups in reading this week. Ask your student about the book they are reading, they are doing some fun ones this time. ;) Also, watch for a drop in reading participation scores that may be a hint your child needs to work on focusing and completing their work during class instead of wasting time or getting distracted. Please let me know if they share ideas with you on what they might need to focus more. This next week is the PTA’s No TV week. Return the weeks log on Monday, October 5th. I hope you all noticed the page that came home describing how to create a parent account that gives you access to important information about your child’s XtraMath progress. For a sample of the information you receive with a free parent account see the picture on our class website under Homework. Students MUST use the student account created for them by me this year so that I have access to their practice and progress information. Thank you! Mrs. Andrews |

Upcoming Events Tuesday, September 22 - Diamond Fork Field Trip Tuesday, September 22 - Sonic Night (5-8) Week of September 28 - No TV Week Friday October 2 - Reflections are due at the front office. October 15 & October 16 - Fall Break - No School Tuesday, October 20 - Fall Picture Make-Up Day Thursday, October 22 - SEPs (sign ups coming soon!) Friday, October 23 - No School I have been having problems with XtraMath so ALL Usernames have been changed to be your class number then your first name with no underscore or space. I will also be sending home a note that will help you to connect with your students XtraMath account so you can see their progress. Fact practice is kind of like brushing your teeth, it does more good when you do it every day instead of tons at once. :) Because of that, XtraMath practice only counts as once a day. To get all three points, students must complete a full session on three separate days. We are looking for parents to help with our field trip on next Tuesday, September 22nd. To accompany us, parents must be able to stay for the entire trip (9:00 to 2:00ish) and may not bring any siblings. Please let me know by Monday if you are interested in chaperoning this field trip. Spaces will be filled at a first come first served basis. You will also need to provide your own lunch for the day. In Language Arts... We are did our first "40 Book Challenge" sheet.
