Igneous Rocks
Basalt - made when lava foams out of a fissure, usually on the ocean floor, and cools quickly.
Pumice - made when lava is mixed with boiling water and explodes violently out of a volcano. ![]() Obidiasn - made when lava oozes out of a volcano and cools quickly. ![]() Granite - made when magma cools slowly underground.
Metamorphic Rocks
Gneiss - made when a piece of granite is subjected to heat and pressure.
